who da thunk…who da thought…after a long prestigious career of ‘putting my foot in my mouth’….years of embarrassments (and some triumphs of course)….all the world’s a stage (no doubt)…that I would’ve followed the creed of some well learned lessons…(I’ll have to impart the story of how I vomited (some would say ‘ralph’d') onstage during a show…in front of a packed house….yeah no shit…true story….I hurled -onstage- at the beginning of the 4th set of a long night in a club called “Waldo’s”…..We were just beginning our painful rendition of “Twist & Shout”….when I….being the lead singer, approached the mic to attempt to start singin’ the song….(I was feeling a bit out of sorts)
Picture if U will…..
“Well shake it up baby now” (shake it up baby)
“Twist and RALFFFFF” (twist and ralfff?????)

“HUMILIATION”….the dance floor…being the end of the night….was PACKED….some barely dressed ‘british models’ who were dancin’ with each other in front of the stage….were completely dramatized…I’ll never forget the expression of horror on their faces…
as 4 me….I set down my guitar…and exited the club…(somebody came to retrieve me of course..)
____________________

wow…I digress…..where was I….Oh yes….

this particular performance, the video that I posted, wasn’t quite in the same category has the aforementioned….but…I did learn long ago to not do an ‘acoustic set’ in a BAR…
when people get drunk and buzzed….they like to talk….REALLY LOUD… which is all fine and dandy…when u can turn your amp up to 11…..leaving the crowd almost deaf….(I can remember that annoying ringing in my ears…at 4′ in the AM….following decades of all nighters…many many years…)…but still if your doing an acoustic set…U can’t just turn up the volume and tower over everybody….(causing irreparable hearing damage)…

_______________________
shit i digress again…..
anyways…here’s a few moments ‘caught in time’ from a show that I did recently at a BAR….
actually there were some memorable moments….and a few smiles were shared by some….
I’ve been out here doing my thing for a long, long time…..I’ve been blessed to have jammed with some real cool cats…..strange isn’t it….special memories that we lock away in our hearts…the precious ones…
….the worst part of this business is that it is run very much like the business of politics…..only the scum rise to the top….I’m referring to the ’suits’ who run the show…
But when it comes to class, one man will always stand miles above the rest, in my eyes anyways. John Lennon. I’m not sure people understand, still, to this day, how big of a sacrifice he made. I don’t really think that even ‘I’ was aware of the depth of his commitment to peace and humanity and life until I started seeing how things really are.
When he gave back his ‘MBE’ medal to the queen…and furthermore turned down his knighthood….he made a stand that I believe he was eventually to be murdered over. I’m sure that Mr Lennon was painfully aware of his queen, her majesty’s connection to the ‘elite’ and the ‘illuminati’ and vatican etc…. He rubbed elbows with the elite…without doubt. Only to discover that he was being endlessly harassed by the then Nixon administration…
I’m wondering how much has changed and is going to change in the political arena in the telling months to come….
reminds me of that lyric by a certain Peter Townsend…
“Meet the new boss – Same as the old boss”

…shit, there I go again….that’s enough rambling for now…..

special thanks to lee….(the guy who video taped the show)
