Trojan Horse – Luv (1978)

Holy cow! Disco / Polka / Abba sound-alikes with BAGPIPES! What more do you want? (This song makes me want to bounce in my chair.) I love that horsey disco Lipizzaner dance thingy they do!
Luv was (is?) a Dutch pop girl group that scored a string of successful hit records in Europe, South Africa and Mexico in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The group consists of: José Hoebee, Marga Scheide and Patty Brard.
Their song, “Trojan Horse” (1978), made it to #1 on the charts in the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark and Poland, #2 in Austria and Switzerland, #3 in Germany, #17 in South Africa, #36 in France.
I don’t remember ever hearing this song played here in the U.S., but back in those days, I was resolved to keep my fingers plugged firmly into my ears until the entire “disco era” was over with. But even back then, I think I would have liked this if I’d heard it.
Bagpipes and disco. Who’da thunk…

My stomach got very confused on what to do. Couldn’t decide between a gut wrenching belly laugh or a chunky hurling puke. So I hit the back button before it decided on the latter.
